OVIDE PICARD

Ovide Picard, 60, of 8 Oak street, Dudley, died Wednesday morning at the Webster District Hospital following a long illness. A native of North Grosvenordale, Conn., he had lived in Dudley for 24 years.

He was formerly employed at the Standard Taxi Co. for five years, retiring five years ago.

He leaves one son, Daniel, of Willimansett; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Beaulac, of Dudley; three brothers, Adrien of Brimfield. Ronald of Grosvenordale, Conn., and Wildor of Putnam; three sisters, Mrs. Aurea Senecal od Putnam, Mrs. Bella Martin of Norwich, and Mrs. Donalda Paradis, also of Norwich; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church at 9, Rev. Richard Collette was the celebrate, assisted by Rev. Silvio Brodeur as deacon, and Rev. Theodore Laperle, sub-deacon.

Bearers were Donald, Robert, Rene, Emile, Richard and Roland Picard. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director.

Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Richard Collette.



JOSEPH MRAZIK, SR.



Joseph Mrazik, Sr., 83, of 70 Myrtle Avenue, died Thursday night at his home following a long illness.

Born in Slovakia, he had lived in Webster for more than 50 years. He operated Mrazik's Grocery Store on Myrtle Avenue for more than 20 years, retiring in 1945, when a son took over management. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the First Catholic Slovak Union of St. Anthony's Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Magdalene (Sliga) Mrazik; four sons, William of Southbridge, George of Oxford, and Michael and Joseph Mrazik, Jr., both of Webster; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Moore of Webster; a brother, Andrew Mrazik in New Jersey; a sister, Miss Katherine Mrazik in Czechoslovakia, 13 grandchildren amd several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock with a high mass of requiem in St. Anthony's Church. Rev. Joseph Ferenz officiated.

Bearers were Ernest Moore, Jr., Paul, Rudolph and Richard Mrazik and John and Joseph Harvanek. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


MRS. LOUISE HOLKE

Mrs. Louise Holke, 84, of Chicago, Ill., a former Webster resident, died in that city of January 1.

She was the mother of Adolf Holke, Myrtle avenue. Also surviving are three other sons, Carl, Bruno, and Erich Holke, all of Chicago; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holke was formerly a member of Emanuel Lutheran Chruch, and the Ladies Aid Society of that parish.

Funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church of the Savior in Chicago, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in that city.



MRS. VERONICA LABOK


Funeral services for Mrs. Veronica Labok, 75, of 42 Pearl street, were held December 30 with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Joseph's Church. Very Rev. Msgr. Andrew A. Lekarczyk was celebrant assisted by Rev. Casimir Kurzawski as deacon and Rev. Henry Banach as sub-deacon.

Bearers were Stanley and Joseph Brozyna, Stanley Suss, Joseph Piechota, Edward Szymczak and Peter Omilnowicz. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in charge of Edward C. Sitkowski, funeral director.


MRS. MARY KACZMAREK

Mrs. Mary (Kaczmarek) Kaczmarek, 90, of 59 Poland street, died in her home Monday morning. She was one of the first Polish residents to settle here.

She came to this country when 17 and had lived here since that time. She was among the original group of communicants of St. Joseph's Church.

She leaves three sons, Anthony of Dudley, Peter and Lawrence, both of Webster; two daughters, Mrs. Julia Brunner and Mrs. Lillian Stawiecki, also of Webster; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this morning at 9 o'clock with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Joseph's Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


GARY LEIGH KLEBART


Gary Leigh Klebart, four and half month son of Mr. and Mrs. James Klebart of 1 Negus street died Tuesday in Worcester City Hospital.

Besides his parents he leaves his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Sargent and his paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mark Klebart of Webster.

Rev. Robert I. Howland, pastor of United Church of Christ officiated at private funeral services Wednesday. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in charge of Pike and Luther, funeral directors.

MRS. MARY FRANKLIN

Mrs. Mary (Levinsky) Franklin, 68, of 27 Nelson street, widow of Myer Franklin, died in her home Sunday. Born in England, daughter of the late Morris and Jennie (Goldman) Levinsky, she lived here for 40 years.

She was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue and a member of the Synagogue Auxiliary.

She leaves three sons, William Franklin of Dudley, Morris Franklin of Webster and Jacob Franklin of Dalton; five sisters, Anna, wife of Harry Lubin and Lee, wife of Max Ellowicz, both of Worcester; Rae, wife of Philip Millet, and Sarah, wife of Samel Kravitz, both of North Dergin, N.J.; and Mrs. Fannie Bernstein of Miami Beach, Fla; three brothers, Julius Levinsky of Miami Beach, Fla., Mack Levinsky of Manchester, N.H., and Saul Levinsky of Long Island, N.Y. Also six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Perlman Funeral Home in Worcester, Rabbi Joseph J. Gold of Congregation Shaarai Torah, Sons of Abraham, of Worcester officiated. Burial was in Holy Society Cemetery in Worcester.


MRS. M. JEDRZYNSKI

Mrs. Michalina (Benkowski) Jedrzynski, 80, of 229 Main street, died last Thursday in the Hoyce Nursing Home.

She is survived by five sons, Bruno of Webster, John, Frank and Andrew, all of Dudley, and William, in Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Sophie Mierzewjewski, Mrs. Stanley Zmetra and Mrs. John Zack, all of Dudley. Also 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning with a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church. Rev. Henry Banach was celebrant assisted by Rev. Casimir Kurzawski as deacon and Rev. Stanley Lipinski as sub-deacon. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


MRS. FRANK G. DUZLAK

Mrs. Frank D. Duzlak, 64, of Pittsfield, a former resident here for many years, died suddenly at her home on January 5.

A native of Poland, she is the former Mary Krystyniak, and had lived most of her life in this community, before moving to Pittsfield. She was a member of the Polish Falcons, the Pittsfield Citizens Club, and the Polish National Society.

Surviving are her husband, Frank G. Duzlak; three sons, Frank Jr., Edward P., and Stanley Duzlak, and four grandchildren; all of Pittsfield; also three brothers in Poland.

Interment was in Pittsfield.


FELIX THIBEAULT

Felix Thibeault, 82, of Roxbury, passed away on January 6, according to information received by relatives here.

A native of Woonsocket, R. I., Mr. Thibeault was well known here. He was the singer of illustrated songs for many years in the old Music Hall. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lena Mansfield of Webster; one daughter, Miss Mary Thibeault; and a son, Earl Thibeault, all of West Roxbury; two brothers-in-law, Robert and John Mansfield of Webster.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning in Roxbury. Burial was in Forest Hills Cemetery in Roxbury.


AMEDEE J. ROULEAU

Amedee J. Rouleau, 84, of 29 Schofield Ave., Dudley, died suddenly Sunday at the Webster District Hospital. Dr. Anthony Wojciechowski, medical examiner, attributed death to natural causes.

A native of Thompson, Conn., he had been a Dudley resident for 23 years, and was a member of St. Jean de Baptiste Society. He was formerly employed at the American Woolen Co., retiring 20 years ago.

He leaves one son, Adelard, of Dudley; two daughters, Mrs. Rosealda Leboeuf of Webster and Mrs. Rose Donalda Hejwosz of Dudley, one brother, Felix Rouleau of Pawtucket, R.I., 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a high mass in Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Theodore Laperle.

Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director.

MRS. ALEXANDRINE LEDOUX

Mrs. Alexandrine (Landry) Ledoux, 80, of 17 Mill street, Dudley, died Saturday at the Dalton Nursing Home in Worcester after a long illness. A native of Canada, she had lived in Dudley for most of her life.

She was a member of St. Anne Sodality of Sacred Heart Church.

She leaves three sons, Armand of West Brookfield, William of Webster, and Leo of Garden Grove, California; six daughters, Mrs. Theresa Dumouchel, of Webster, Mrs. Irene Leboeif of Southbridge, Mrs. Edna Gothreau of Putnam, Mrs. Stella Turner and Mrs. Rita Bercume, both of Oxford, and Mrs. Florence Beresik of Dudley; two brothers, Alphonse and Omer Landry, both of Webster; six sisters; Mrs. Regina La Fontaine of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Noemi Pepin, Mrs. Louise Lapierre, Mrs. Emma Dumouchel, Mrs. Evelyn Lapierre, and Mrs. Yvonne Mason, all of Webster; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Silvio Brodeur was the celebrant, assisted by Rev. Theodore Laperle, as deacon, and Rev. Richard Collette, sub-deacon.

Bearers were Leon Gothreau, Emile and Francis Leboeuf, Silas Turner, Adam Beresik, and Michael Dumouchel. Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director. Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Theordore Laperle.

MRS. MARIE ALARIE

Mrs. Marie Alarie, 81, of 43 Schofield avenue, Dudley died Friday at Worcester City Hospital after a long illness.

She was a member of the St. Anne Society of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by six sons, Omer, Percy, Alfred and Emery Alarie, all of Dudley, Walter of Worcester, and Frank of New York City; four daughters, Mrs. Bruno Stanick of Dudley, Mrs. Bernadette Lavallee of Webster, Mrs. William Hanson of Worcester and Mrs. Henry Lapointe of Putnam, Conn.; three brothers, Omer, Peter and Anthony, call in Rhode Island; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock on Tuesday morning with a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Silvio Brodeur officiated, assisted by Rev. Theodore Laperle and Rev. Richard Collette.

Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


WILLIAM J. LOVE

William J. Love, 78, of Loveland, died Monday night in Webster District Hospital.

He was born in Dudley and lived in the Webster-Dudley area all of his life.

He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in the Class of 1900. He was a former member of the Fire Department and served as an engineer for 35 years.

He had been owner, with his brother James, of Love Bros. Memorials, which was sold to Joseph Zmetra in 1955.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Louis Church. He was past director of the Webster Co-operative Bank.

He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Edward L. Nelson of Webster, and Mrs. Thomas P. Welch and Mrs. William M. McCann, both of Southbridge; two brothers, James of Webster and Joseph of Dudley; two sisters, Mrs. John L. Berger and Mrs. John LaBonte, both of Webster; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this morning from the Shaw Funeral Home, with a high mass of requiem at 9 o'clock in St. Louis Church. Rev. Paul Dugan officiated and read prayers at the grave. Burial was in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery, in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


MRS. MARY GOVINA

Mrs. Mary (Buksar) Govina, 51, a resident of Webster until 10 years ago, died Saturday in Metropolitan Hospital in New York City.

She is survived by her father, John Buksar Sr., of Webster; a son, Theodore Govina of Webster, and four brothers, John Buksar Jr., Andrew and Joseph, all of Webster, and Michael in New Jersey.

Funeral services were held from the Shaw Funeral Home on Wednesday morning, with a high mass of requiem in St. Anthony's Church. Rev. Joseph Ferenz officiated.

Burial was in the family lot in St. Joseph cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.


ALAN R. BRANCH

Alan Reynolds Branch, aged 48, of 122 Bowdoin street, Boston, died suddenly last night in that city, according to word received here.

A native of Webster, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Herbert C. Branch, of this town, and one brother, William R. Branch, guidance director at Bartlett High School.

Mr. Branch was a social worker in the Massachusetts State Department of Veterans Services since 1946. A graduate of Bartlett, he attended Boston University and Middlebury College. He was with the American Field Service in North Africa and New Zealand in 1941 and 1942, and during World War II saw service in the Pacific and Japan.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but burial will be in the family lot in Mount Zion Cemetery here on Saturday, Jan. 23.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.

EMIL C. BARRETTE

Emil C. Barrette, 55, of 10 Foster street, died at his home Monday.

Born in Dudley, he was the son of the late Peter and Rosilda Barrette. He was employed as a weaver at the Packard Woolen Mills in Dudley and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rose (Kryger) Barrette; a daughter, Miss Shirley Barrette, a brother, Albert, and a sister, Mrs. Stephen Kuszewski, all of Webster.

Funeral services were held this morning from the Sitkowski Funeral Home.


MRS. IDA MILLS

Mrs. Ida (Goodine) Mills, 84, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amedee Goulet, 60 Lake street, after a long illness.

A native of Canada, she had been staying with her daughter for the past three years.

Besides Mrs. Goulet, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Chester Estabrooks of Webster, and Mrs. Walter Paget of Fredericton, Canada; a son, Leo Mills of Kingsclear, Canada and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held in St. Anne's Church, Kingsclear, New Brunswick, Canada this morning. Burial was in St. Anne's Parish Cemetery in Kingsclear.


KONSTANTY STELMASZEK

Konstanty Stelmaszek, 80, of 49 Worcester road, died at Webster District Hospital Thursday.

He was born in Poland and had lived about 30 years in the town of Oxford. He moved to Webster five years ago.

He retired in 1948 from employment with the McKinstry Coal Company in Dudley.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna (Majewski) Stelmaszek, a son, Stanley, of Worcester; two daughters, Mrs. Leo Tetreault and Mrs. Everett Olds, both of Webster; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning from the Shaw Funeral Home with a high mass of requiem at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph Church. Rev. Stanley Lipinski officiated at the service. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in charge of Bernard Shaw, funeral director.

John Lensky, 70, of 49 Oxford avenue, Dudley, died Friday at the Webster District Hospital after a short illness. A native of Webster, he had been a lifelong resident. He was formerly employed at the American Woolen Co., retiring about seven years ago. He was a member of the Kosciuszko Society of Holy Trinity Church.

Surviving are two sons, George of Ipswich, Mass. and Ralph of Dudley; one daughter, Mrs. Louse Spahl of Dudley; two brothers, George and Peter, both of Dudley, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a high mass in Holy Trinity Church celebrated by Rev. John Swantek, pastor. Bearers were Joseph Morob, Stanley Antos, Stanley Olszta, Theodore and John Paholski, and Richard Piechocki.

Burial was in the parish cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director. Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. John Swantek.

CZERNICKI INFANT

The infant daughter of Frank and Rita (Lemieux) Czernick of 2 ½ Hill street, Webster, who was born Saturday, died Sunday morning at the Webster District Hospital. Private committal grave services were held Wednesday in Sacred Heart Cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director.


MRS. ANNIE COURTEMANCHE

Mrs. Annie (Lafountaine) Courtemanche, 61, of 25 Park street, died suddenly at her home Saturday evening. She was the wife of Arsene Courtemanche.

A native of Thompson, Connecticut, she had lived in Webster for the past 42 years. She was formerly employed at the Service Mailing Co. She was a member of Cercle Gagnon and Ste. Anne's Sodality of Sacred Heart Church.

Beside her husband, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Alix of Webster; two brothers, Joseph Lafountaine and Alfred Lafountaine both of North Grosvenordale, Connecticut and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Silvio Brodeur was the celebrant, assisted by Rev. Louis Charron of St. Ann's Church, North Oxford as deacon and Rev. Richard Collette, sub deacon.

A delegation attended from St. Anne's Sodality.

MISS JOSEPHINE SANDECKI


Miss Josephine A. Sandecki, 64, of 30 Whitcomb street, died Monday afternoon at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Webster and lived here all her life.

She leaves a brother, William of Webster, and three sisters, Mrs. Susie Ceminski and Mrs. Frances Wolak, both of Webster, and Mrs. Lottie Romanowski of Worcester.

Funeral services were held this morning from the Shaw Funeral Home with a solemn high mass at 8 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Henry Banach officiated. Rev. Stanley Lipinski was deacon and Rev. Casimir Kuzawski, sub-deacon. Burial was in the St. Joseph's cemetery in charge of Shaw Funeral Home.


ANASTAS H. PAPPAS

Anastas H. Pappas, 73, of 69 West Main street, Dudley, died Sunday morning at Webster District Hospital.

He was widely known in town as the proprietor of Pappas Popcorn Stand on Main street, for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Webster Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sultana (Grintafilo) Pappas; two sons, Thomas of Oxford and Christie of Dudley, one brother, George in Yugoslavia, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. Constantine and Helen Church, with the Rev. J. Constantine and Helen Church, with the Rev. J. Constantine Balomenos, pastor, officiating.

Bearers were: Nicholas Teguis, Michael Karapanos, George Peters, Charles Teguis, Vasil Condos, and Vlademir Nichols. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, in charge of the Shaw Funeral Home.


ELIZABETH VASIL

Funeral services for Miss Elizabeth Vasil, of 6 Wellington street, who died Saturday at Wrentham Hospital were held Monday afternoon at the Sts. Constantine and Helene Church. Rev. Constantine Balomenos, pastor of the church officiated.

Miss Vasil was born in Webster, and had lived here all of her life.

She leaves her mother and father, Arthur and Mary Vasil of Webster; two brothers, Edward of Freeport, New York; and Perry of Penn Yan, New York, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Costa of Dudley.

Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery in charge of Pike and Luther Funeral Home.


MRS. R. ANNIE CONVERSE

Mrs. R. Annie (Dudley) Converse, 79, of North Main street, Charlton, died at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge Monday after a long illness. She was the widow of Lester Converse.

She was born in Douglas, and lived in Charlton for the past 42 years. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Charlton, Federated Church, Charlton Garden Club, Southwest Pomona Grange, and a 25-year member of Charlton Grange No. 92.

She leaves three sons, Charles of Oxford, Donald of Worcester and Roger of Charlton; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Taft of Uxbridge of Uxbridge, and Mrs. Grace Jackson of Poquonock Bridge, Connecticut; two brothers, Ralph Dudley of Webster and Elmer Dudley of Dudley; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Hamilton of Oxford, an 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock from the Pike and Luther Funeral Home in Oxford Rev. Phillip Mitchell of the Federated Church of Charlton will officiate and Rev. Robert Baggs of the First Baptist Church of Holden will assist. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in charge of the Pike and Luther Funeral Home.


PATRICK JAMES GIBSON

Patrick James Gibson, 71, of Perryville road, Dudley, died suddenly at his home Friday, Dr. Anthony Wojciechowski medical examiner, attributed death to natural causes. A native of Johnstone, Scotland, he had lived in Dudley for 20 years, and was formerly employed at the Packard Mills for 15 years, retiring about five years ago. He was a former selectman of Millbury for 10 years, a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Louis church, a charter member and past president of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Bishop O'Reilly Class 4th Degree K.of C., and the Webster K. of C.

Surviving are his wife, Annie (Raymond) Gibson, one son, William of Millbury; two daughters, Miss Ethel Gibson of Millbury, and Anita, wife of Francis McCool of Whitinsville; three sisters, the Misses Catherine and Sarah Gibson, and Mrs. Margaret Capistron, all of Millbury; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Paradis Funeral followed by a solemn high mass in St. Louis Church, Msgr. James I. Mitchell was the celebrant, assisted by Rev. Franics J. O'Shea as deacon, and Rev. Paul Dugan, sub-deacon.

Bearers were Gordon Breault, John Hamilton, Francis McArdle, Joseph Capistron, Henry and Joseph Credit.

MRS. STASIA POKRAKA

Mrs. Stasia (Kaczmarek) Pokraka, 84, of 49 Lake street, died Sunday morning at the Joyce Nursing Home. She was the widow of Frank Pokraka.

Born in Poland, she had lived in Webster 76 years. She was a member of the Holy Rosary, Sacred Heart and St. Anne's Societies of St. Joseph's Church.

She leaves two sons, Valerian and Felix Pokraka; three daughters, Mrs. Wilfred Henault, Mrs. Victor Greskiewicz and Mrs. Stanley Daskowski, all of Webster; one brother, William Kaczmarek of Winooski, Vt., 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Shaw Funeral Home with a high mass of requiem at 9:30 in St. Joseph's church; Rev. Stanley Lipinski officiated. Rev. Henry Banach was deacon and Rev. Casimir Kurzawski, sub-deacon.

Louis L. Schremser, 81, of Killdeer, died suddenly this morning at his home. Medical Examiner Dr. Anthony Wojciechowski pronounced death due to natural causes.

A resident of this community most of his life, he was the oldest charter member of Emanuel Lutheran church and the first president of the organization. He was a master mechanic before his retirement twelve years ago, and was a member of the Men's Club of his church.

Surviving are his wife, Lena (Redlitz) Schremser; seven sons, Arthur, Albert, Edmund, Harold Schremser, all of Oxford; George, Eugene and Wesley Schremser, all of Webster; ten daughters, Mrs. Clara Boener and Mrs. Dorothy Gallagher, of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Betha LaMountain of California; Mrs. Martha Rogers of Bellingham; Mrs. Alice Brooks, Mrs. Emily Gardner, Mrs. Olga Moritz, Mrs. Gertrude Bayer, Mrs. Helen McGovern, and Mrs. Louise Matilla, all of Webster; 34 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Prayers will be said at the Scanlon Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with services in Emanuel Lutheran Church at 3, in charge of Rev. Joshua Lindstrom. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.


JOSEPH LARAMIE

Joseph Laramie, aged 84, of 6 Hillside avenue, died this morning at Webster District Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Canada, he had lived in this town for 57 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart League of Sacred Heart parish and was a painter until his retirement.

He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Elmira Gadbois of Webster; and five brothers, Delor of Trenton, N.J.; William of Oxford; Ovila, Louis, and Aldor Laramie, all of this town; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home at 8:15 with a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred heart Cemetery.


MISS ALMA BROUSSEAU

Miss Alma Brousseau, aged 72, of 53 South Main street, Oxford, died this morning at her home following a long illness.

Born in Webster, she had lived here until moving to Oxford 12 years ago. She was formerly employed by the Whitin Machine Works until retirement seven years ago.

She leaves one brother, Leo Brousseau of Webster, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Laramie, wife of William Laramie, of Oxford.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning from the Paradis funeral Home, Webster at 10:15 a.m., followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at 11 in St. Roch's Church, Oxford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster.


NAPOLEON BARRETT

Napoleon Barrett, 64, of Lakeside Beach, died Friday night at Webster District Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Webster and had lived here all his life. He was employed as a card stripper at the Maanexit Spinning Company.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Helen (Ostrowski) Barrett; three brothers, Alfred of Dudley, Charles of Brooklyn, Connecticut and Edward of Webster, and a sister, Mrs. Michael Osowski of Dudley.

Funeral was held Monday from the Shaw Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Silvio Brodeur officiated.

Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, in charge of Bernard Shaw funeral director.



WOLF YEROVITZ

Wolf Yerovitz, 82, also known as Wolf Yerow, of Brook street, a retired Main street merchant, died Friday at Webster District Hospital.

He was a member of the Sons of Israel Synagogue, Knights of Pythias and B'nai B'rith Chapter. He was born in Lithuania and had lived in this town for more than 70 years.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Yerow; two sons, Edward and Leonard Yerow, both of Worcester; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Shepard of Dudley and Mrs. Edward Starr of Worcester, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Perlman Funeral Home, Worcester. Rabbi Joseph Klein officiated. Burial was in B'nai B'rith Cemetery, Worcester.


WILBROD THERRIEN

Wilbrod Therrien, 79, of Perryville, Dudley, died early Sunday morning at his home following a long illness. A native of St. Monique, Canada, he had lived in Dudley for 42 years and was formerly employed as a chauffeur, retiring seven years ago.

He was a member of the Artisans.

He leaves his wife, Marie (Beausoleil) Therrien, two daughters, Mrs. Lea Valade and Mrs. Cecile Bacovin, both of Perryville; two brothers, Theode Therrien of Victoriaville, Canada, and Henry Therrien of Dona Cana, Canada, and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Richard Collette, assisted by Rev. Louis Charron of St. Ann's, North Oxford as deacon, and Rev. Silvio Brodeur as sub-deacon.

Bearers were Andrew and Rudolph Vaillancourt, Amedee Vaillancourt, Jr., Armand, Aime and Edgar Therrien. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director. Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Silvio Brodeur.


ANTONIO PIZZOTTI

Antonio Pizzotti, 93, died Monday evening at his home at 32 Maple street.

Born in Italy, he was a resident of this town 50 years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy.

He leaves his three daughters, Mrs. Francis Polletta and Mrs. Susan Perretti, both of Webster; Mrs. Josephine Conti of Dudley; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandhildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from the Shaw Funeral Home with a solemn high mass in St. Louis Church; Rev. Msgr. James Mitchell officiated. Rev. Francis O'Shea was deacon. Rev. Paul Dugan sub deacon.

Bearers were Anthony Polletta, Louis T. Polletta, Bernard Conti, Rudolph Conti, William Conti and Dominic Perretti.

Burial was in the parish cemetery, in charge of Bernard Shaw funeral director.


ALDERIC A. LABELLE

Alderic A. Labelle, 69, of Main street, North Grosvenordale, Conn., died Saturday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam following a long illness.

A native of St. Martin, Canada, he had lived in North Grosvenordale for 22 years and was formerly employed at Cluett Peabody Co., retiring eight years ago.

He leaves his wife, Roseanna (LeBoeuf) Labelle; one son, Henry Monette of Montreal, Canada, and one brother, Joseph Labelle, also of Montreal. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in St. Joseph's Church, North Grosvenordale. Rev. Philippe Millette was the celebrant, assisted by Rev. Theodore Berube as deacon, and Rev. Henri Archambeault, sub-deacon.

Bearers were Normand Dutram, Jr., George Chauvin, Jr., Kenneth Dion, William Chauvin, Cordell Cudworth, and Leon Martel.

Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster, in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director.

Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Philippe Millette.


WILLIAM MISKIAVITCH

William Miskiavitch, 61, of 37 Oxford avenue, Dudley, died Tuesday afternoon at the Webster District Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Webster, he had been a lifelong resident and was formerly employed as a painter.

He leaves his wife, Anna (Olszta) Miskiavitch, one daughter, Arlene of Dudley; and two sisters, Mrs. Lucie Duhamel and Miss Sheila Miskiavitch, both of North Grosvenordale, Conn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home at 8:45 followed by a solemn high mass at 9:30 in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Litany at the funeral home will be led by Rev. John Swantek, pastor of the Holy Trinity Church.

Felix Reglinski, 83, of 83 Lake street, died Wednesday evening at Webster District Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Webster, he was employed as a carpenter, retiring 18 years ago.

He leaves two sons, Edward and Joseph, both of Webster; one brother, Louis of Webster; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Jezierski, also of this town, and two grandchildren.

MRS. CATHERINE BOLEK

Mrs. Catherine (Twardzik) Bolek, 84, of 36 Granite street died Tuesday at Webster District Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Poland and had lived here about 61 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart societies of St. Joseph's Church.

She leaves a brother, John Twardzik of Mansfield, Ohio.

Services will be held Friday from the Sitkowski Funeral Home with a high mass at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.


MRS. ETHELINDA STEWART

Mrs. Ethelinda (McFadden) Stewart, aged 94, widow of William J. Stewart, died on Wednesday morning in Millbrook, N.Y.

A former resident of Webster for many years, she had been affiliated with the Church of the Reconciliation. Her late husband had been manager of the North Village Slater Mills.

Surviving are one son, John of Webster; and three daughters, Mrs. Edna McCall, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Elizabeth Daniels, of Millbrook, N. J., and Mrs. Margaret Bartlett of Webster.

Funeral services will be from the Church of the Reconciliation, this town, on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the family lot in Mount Zion Cemetery.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.


MARTIN JUSZKIEWICZ

Martin Juszkiewicz, 70, of 36 Nelson street, died at his home Saturday after a brief illness. He was a member of the Z.P.R.K.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Olga (Abraham) Juszkiewicz; a son, Edward; two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Peterson and Mrs. Dorothy Savaria, all of Webster; a brother, Joseph, in Poland; two sisters, Adrienne in Poland and Deluag in Australia, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Scanlon Funeral Home followed by a service in the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Theodore Thormahlen, pastor officiated.

Bearers were George Peterson, Sr., George Peterson, Jr., David Peterson, Hector Gardner, William Whipple, and Stanley Makara.

Frank Kasierski, 79, of 15 Dresser street, died Saturday evening at Webster District Hospital. He was formerly employed at the American Woolen Company, as a floorman.

He leaves three sons, Leo, Joseph and Angelo Kasierski, all of Webster; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Makulski and Mrs. Norman Servant, both of Webster, and Mrs. Herbert Walkenstein of West Peabody; a brother, Williams Kasierski of Boylston; a sister, Mrs. Clementine Taberski of Webster and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Shaw Funeral Home with a solemn high mass at St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock. Rev. Stanley Lipinski was celebrant; Rev. Henry Banach, deacon, and Rev. Casimir Kurzawski, sub-deacon.

MISS ANN J. DOYLE

Miss Ann Josephine Doyle, 85, of 14 Prospect street, died last Wednesday in Webster District Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born here, and lived here all her life.

She leaves three sisters, the Misses Mary, Alice and Katherine Doyle, all of Webster, and several cousins in Worcester.

Funeral services were held at the Scanlon Funeral Home and a high solemn mass was held at St. Louis Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. James I. Mitchell officiating with Rev. Francis O'Shea as deacon and Rev. Paul Dugan as sub-deacon.

Burial was in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery in charge of the Scanlon Funeral Home.

MRS. DENISE M. BRULE

Mrs. Denise (Marrier) Brule, 86, of 39 ½ Granite street, wife of Adelard Brule, died Sunday night at her home following a long illness. A native of Webster, she had been a life-long resident.

Besides her husband, Adelard, she leaves two sons, George Stebbins, by a former marriage, and Joseph Brule, both of Webster; one sister, Miss Albina Marrier of Worcester, three grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a high mass in Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Theodore Laperle.

Burial was in Scared Heart Cemetery in charge of Raymond A. Paradis, funeral director. Prayers at the grave were led by Rev. Silvio Brodeur.


ROBERT C. BELL


Funeral services for Robert C. Bell, a native of this town who died Saturday in Brooklyn, N.Y. were held in Brooklyn Tuesday morning. Burial was held in Mount Zion Cemetery at 1 p.m. in charge of the Shaw Funeral Home.

Mr. Bell leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice (Ryan) Bell; a daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Collins of Pontiac, Michigan, and a son, Alan W. Bell of Old Greenwich, Connecticut.

JOHN D. BERESIK

John D. Beresik, 46, of 21 Pine street, died Friday evening at Webster District Hospital after a brief illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Dudley. He was a Navy veteran of World War Two and the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, the Polish Cannoneers, the Webster Lodge B.P.O. Elks and the Polish American Citizens Club.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Margaret (Manzi) Beresik; a son, John Beresik, Jr.; his parents, Dominik and Sophie (Kopas) Beresik of Dudley; three brothers, Joseph, Adam and Lawrence, all of Dudley, and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Szczepaniak of Webster, and Mrs. Josephine Minarik, Mrs. Sophie Slota, and Mrs. Margaret Jezierski, all of Dudley.

Funeral services were held from the Scanlon Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 o'clock in St. Anthony's Church. Rev. Joseph Ferenz was celebrant; Rev. Edmund Mochak, deacon; and Rev. Theodore Laperle, sub-deacon.

Bearers were members of the Polish Cannoneers who are: Anthony Mierzejewski, Lawrence Krajcek, Charles Borowski, Stephen Bielik, Police Chief Lawrence Christopher and Bernard Jarzabski.

Members of the American Legion who conducted military rites were Arthur Racine, chaplain; Paule Diani, Sgt. At Arms; David Ryan and William DiFusco, Color Guards and Edward Kaliszewski and Sigmund Miller, Color Bearers.

Chester Starzec, Emil Plasse, Walter Rukat, Harold Bates, William Collins, Charles Laquerre, Samuel Cournoyer and Ed. Zach were members of the firing squad and Gustav Rosentrater was the bugler.

Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery in charge of Scanlon Funeral Home.


WILLIAM MORGAN, SR.

Word was received here of the death of William G. Morgan Sr., aged 47, of 91 Main street, Lincoln, R.I. He was the brother of Charles R. Morgan and Joseph H. Morgan, both of Webster.

A native of Montreal, he was a son of the late William P. and Mary E. (Ronan) Morgan.

Surviving, besides his brothers, are his wife, Anita (Proulx) Morgan; one daughter, Elaine; two sons, William Jr., stationed with the Army at Fort Monmouth, N.J.; Allan Morgan of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Waring of Fall River; and Mrs. Leonard Lyons of New Bedford.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, with a requiem mass in St. Patrick's Church. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland, R.I.


JOHN C. ALBETSKI

John C. Albetski, 62, of 5 Central street, died suddenly Thursday evening in Leominster.

He was a native of Dudley and resided here for 10 years.

He leaves his wife Mrs. Alma (Provost) Albetski of Webster; eight sons, Clarence, Leo, and Donald, all of Webster, William and Emile, both of Danielson, Connecticut, Bernard of Oxford, Alfred of Thompsonville, Connecticut and George Albetski of Grosvenordale, Connecticut; two brothers, Robert of Fitchburg and Felix Albetski of Webster; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes David of Dudley and Mrs. Mary Piotrowski of Worcester.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas F. Wright Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.


MISS J. F. PRZELOMSKI

Miss Josephine F. Przelomski, 48, of 12 Spring street, died at her home Friday. Dr. Anthony Wojciechowski, medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes.

Born in Dudley, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Stella (Jarmolowicz) Przelomski.

She leaves two brothers, Anthony and Bernard, both of Webster.

Services were held Monday morning from the Sitkowski Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass at 9 in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Henry Banach officiated. Rev. Stanley Lipinski was Deacon, and Rev. Casimir Kurzawski, sub deacon.

Bearers were: Joseph Przelomski, Bruno Przelomski, Charles Przelomski, Dominic Przelomski, Anthony Przelomski, Gerald Jarmolowicz.

ROGER L. BISSONNETTE

Roger L. Bissonnette, 45, of Marshall street, North Grosvenordale, died Friday at the Newington, Connecticut, Veterans Hospital, after a long illness.

He was born in Dunham, Canada, and had been a resident of this town for the past 40 years.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maria (Sabourin) Bissonnette; his mother Mrs. Mary (Molloy) Bissonnette of North Grosvenordale, and two sisters, Mrs. Yvonne Menoche of Webster and Mrs. Jeanne Pawlowski of North Grosvenordale.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Gilman Funeral Home in Putnam, Conn., with a solemn high mass at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

ALEXANDER PAPPAS

Alexander Pappas, 68, of Thompson road, Webster, died Sunday morning at Webster District Hospital, following a heart attack.

He was born in Lashova, Albania, and came to this country in 1910. After a short residence in Mechanicsville, Connecticut, he moved to Webster. About 1925, Mr. Pappas opened his first grocery store on Pleasant street, known as Alex Pappas and Sons. He later moved the store's location to the corner of Pleasant and Main streets. Shortly after World War II, the business was moved to the corner of East Main street and Park avenue, and last December a new store was opened on East Main street.

He was a member of the Webster Lodge No. 90, Knights of Pythias and Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He was active in civic affairs.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Christina (Shamo) Pappas; two sons, Peter and Charles, both of Webster, two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Baxter and Miss Olga Pappas also of Webster; three sisters, Madeline of Istanbul, Turkey, Evangeline and Lolitsa of Albania, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Constantine Balomenos, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, funeral director.

Bearers were: Arthur Cardin, Ronald Dumouchel, Frank Kujawski, Charles Christo, Mitch Kenneway, Nick Taylor.

The Knights of Pythias Lodge held a prayer service at the Shaw Funeral Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. led by the Rev. Fr. Balomenos, followed by special services at 8 in the Pythian Lodge.

JOHN RODIO

John Rodio, 54, of 15 Spring St., died Friday at the Webster District Hospital after a short illness. A native of Poland, he had lived in Webster for 53 years and was a member of the League of Sacred Heart of Sacred Heart Church.

He was employed at the Packard Woolen for the past six years.

He leaves his wife, Aurore (Forcier) Rodio, his step-mother, Mary Rodio of Webster; two sons, Richard and Donald, both of Webster; three daughters, Mrs. Elaine Dancause and Miss Ann Marie Rodio, both of Webster; and Mrs. Joan Barone of Dudley; one brother, Joseph Rodio of Webster; 2 step-brothers, Stanley of Southbridge and Walter Rodio of Webster; two sisters, Mrs.Harriet Palmer of Oxford and Mrs. Jennie Kwiatkowski of Webster; a step-sister, Miss Isabelle Rodio of Webster; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Paradis Funeral Home followed by a solemn high mass in Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Theodore Laperle was the celebrant assisted by Rev. MISS JOSEPHINE DUGAR

Miss Josephine Dugar, 84, formerly of West Main street, Dudley, died last Wednesday evening at the Quobaug Lodge Nursing Home in West Brookfield, where she had been living for eight months.

She was a retired school teacher, formerly teaching in the Somerville school system. She moved to Dudley 15 years ago, upon her retirement.

She leaves two cousins, Joseph M. Woodbury of Natick, and Alvin Dugar of Southampton, N.H.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Pike and Luther Funeral Home. The Rev. Helen Galazka, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Dudley, officiated. Burial was in Bay Path Cemetery, Charlton.

MRS. KATHERINE JAROSZ

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine (Rozek) Jarosz, 79, of 466 South Main street, who died last Thursday were Saturday morning from the Shaw Funeral Home followed by a high mass in St. Joseph Church.

Monsignor Andrew Lekarczyk was celebrant and was assisted by Rev. Henry Banach and Rev. Stanley Lipinski.

Bearers were Edward Jarosz, Bernard Majewski, Walter Majewski, Robert Alexandrowicz, Francis Labonte and Ronald Labonte.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Leokadya (Bonczek) Mroczek; a son, Edmund of New Jersey, and eight daughters, Mrs. Herniwa Madura, Mrs. Frank Pakulski, Mrs. Edmund Plasse, Mrs. Norbert Gogolinski, Mrs. Joseph Makowski and Mrs. Anthony Surozenski, all of Webster, Mrs. Edmund Kaczmarek of Dudley, and Mrs. Edward Klekotka of Northhampton.

The funeral will be Saturday morning at 9 with a high mass in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

STEPHEN STAROSTA

Stephen M. Starosta, 90, of 77 Lake street, died Saturday at Webster District Hospital.

A native in Poland, he had lived in Webster 60 years. He was a member of the Webster P.A.C.C.

He leaves his wife, Mary A. (Michalski) Starosta; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Prokopowicz of Webster and Mrs. Martha Walker of Hagerstown, Md.; four sons, Martin, Clemence, Charles and Dr. Edward Starosta, all of Webster; one sister, Mrs. Michael Lejman of Webster, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Sitkowski Funeral Home with a solemn high mass at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church. Rev. Henry Banach was celebrant, Rev. Stanley Lipinski, deacon and Rev. Casimer Kurzawski, sub-deacon.

Bearers who were members of the Polish-American Citizens Club were: John Nowak, Frank Mackowiak, Frank Gajewski, Stanley Motyka, Louis Brezniak and William Bialy. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in charge of Sitkowski Funeral Home.
