Webster Intermediate School Spelling Champion  1962

Twelve-year-old Michael Frank Cohen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart M. Cohen of 989 School St., won the first annual Webster Intermediate School Spelling Contest. A seventh grader, Cohen became the first winner of the contest by correctly spelling the word "legitimate". Superintendent of Schools George A. Sellig was the pronouncer and presenter of the trophy. Runner-up Suzanne LaLiberty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul LaLiberty of Thompson Road, looks on.
