| Larry "Buzz" Daly, Jr. (first on left) was among the soldiers ready to leave on the Direct Line bus in front of the Maanexit Hotel on Main St. headed to the Springfield induction center. The local Draft Board was located in the Patenaude Block on the second floor over Costello's, an auto parts and bicycle shop run by Ed, Myles and Dot Costello. Tha Board served the towns of Webster, Dudley, Oxford, Auburn and Douglas. | |
